When a family is transitioning to separated parties' self-determination, no outsider or third-party decisions are important when dealing with disputes. During this process, the mediator serves as a neutral third party that does not represent either person and facilitates a process that allows the parties to resolve the dispute and come to an agreement.

Trauma-Focused Psychotherapy

Utilizes eye movements to help change the way traumatic memories are stored in our minds. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  It is an entire therapy model that has been proven to be highly effective for those who have experienced trauma.


  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy focuses on the acceptance of oneself and others and commitment to change and self-improvement. This kind of therapy is based on patients making specific actions that concentrate on positive change and acceptance. 

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy identifies how our often negative thought patterns have a destructive impact on our emotions and behaviors. and affect our relationships with ourselves and others.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy provides clients with new skills to manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in relationships and change their behavioral patterns.

  • Motivational interviewing is a counseling method that helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior.
