I initially started my journey into this profession by working with family members in the military, people in need of transplants, and victims of crime. It was then I started my pursuit to be able to provide better quality care and pursued my Masters degree in Psychology. After completing coursework in testing, assessment, and diagnosing, I wanted to do more to help teens and adults in the community. To increase my knowledge and advocate more I decided to get additional education and earn a Masters of Social Work. Once I had this knowledge I wanted to serve better and received certifications in addiction, transgender dignity model, and training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy-PE, (DBT-PE), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy (NT), and Relapse Prevention (RP). Anne Zawada, LCSW-QS
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Florida License Number: SW16857
I am a licensed clinical social worker with a passion for people. During my 15 years in social services I have seen the hard work that clinicians do day in and day out. They work tirelessly to help better the lives of others, while often forgoing their own needs. As a professional I have often been hesitant to seek counseling because "I know this stuff". What I have learned over the years is "do as I say, not as I do" doesn't work out well. Since becoming a supervisor of other staff in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, I have been able learn and grow as a support to direct care staff. I have had to use my clinical skills and experience to provide support for people new to social services, as well as seasoned professionals. In that time I have learned that we need a different type of support than the average person. When looking for my own personal support, I wanted someone who acknowledges my skills as a professional, and is easy to talk to about working in social services just as much as negative emotions. Now I want to provide that experience to others in the field. If you have experience with non-profit work, social services, helping professionals, and anything in between, let me provide the extra support you need to help tackle the burnout and bring the joy back into helping.
