Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Group

Day:    Wednesdays
Group Time:             4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Location:  Online

Starting In January 2022

Have you ever felt like you were on an emotional rollercoaster? I know it feels as though nothing will help, and you may have had previous therapy experiences that felt ineffective.  A key to managing intense emotions is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).


The group is open to adults 18 and older who wish to learn skills to manage problematic internal emotions, to live more fully in the present moment, to communicate and express yourself effectively, and ability to negotiate relationships.​

What is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)?

DBT was developed by Marsha Linehan. It is an effective, empirically supported, cognitive therapy based on an intervention system for teaching skills that will help in coping with sudden, intense surges of emotion.


Skills to be covered:

  • Mindfulness

  • Distress Tolerance

  • Emotional Regulation

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness


Cost $60 per skills group session.

Family

Family DBT Skills Course

Day:    Monday

Group Time:  12:00 pm –  1:00 pm

Location:  Hybrid (telehealth and in person)


Starting January 2022

The group is a 12-week course open to adults 18 and older who wish to receive education, skills training, and support strategies to aid people who are in a relationship with a person who struggles with regulating their emotions. 


Topics to be covered:

  • Validation

  • Reducing Conflict and responding to behaviors

  • Taking care of oneself

  • Understanding your loved once emotions

  • Communication and setting boundaries


Cost $60 per skill session.
